Introduction

This page is about some of my favorite (and probably cute/hot) characters from the Suikoden series. I've finished playing Suikoden II on more than one occasion, and I've started playing Suikoden III, but not all out. I've watched my cousin play it, as well as Suikoden IV. And Suikoden I is long forgotten in my memory, but I think I've seen my brother play it before.. All pictures and information can be found at Suikosource.

The characters here are ranged from all Suikoden series. You could say that the pictures are very.. shall we say ~~sexy~~ attractive. XD

Flik (Tenan Star)
Origin: Warrior's Village
Position: Mercenary
Events: Gate Rune Wars, Dunan Unification War, Higheast Rebellion

He is powerful both in combat and magic, and is a fearless commander. Although he still laments the loss of his lover, Odessa, he seems to be getting over it these days. He was born and trained as a swordsman in the Warrior's Village but left on his journey of Manhood without ever naming his sword. After being a mercenary for years, he met Odessa whom he fell in love with. He won her heart through his lack of sophistication and willingness to put things into action. He loses Odessa while he was away, and he is unable to forgive himself even after years have passed. During the Gate Rune Wars, he was the cause of the Liberation Army's infamous attack on Scarleticia Castle, which resulted in the death of thousands of Liberation Army soldiers due to the poisonous pollen of Milich Oppenheimer's monstrous rose, Anotoinette. Flik joined the New Liberation Army grudgingly, not accepting McDohl as his new leader. However, he gradually recognized the leadership quality within McDohl and became a willing servant of the cause.
At the end of the Gate Rune Wars, he took an arrow that was aimed at McDohl and stayed behind to keep enemy soldiers at bay while McDohl escaped. He was thought to have died during that last battle, but he actually survived. He traveled north with Viktor along with survivors of the war that he and Viktor collected. After reaching Muse, he formed a mercenary army with Viktor by the request of Anabelle. Thus, he was involved with the Dunan Unificiation War from the very beginning.

After the Dunan Unification War was complete, he went on a journey with Viktor, in which they helped rid Edge's village of vampires. Soon after, they heard of Harmonia invading the Highland section of Dunan, and ventured off to the war to see action in the Higheast Rebellion.

Riou / Hero II (Tenkai Star)

He is the adopted son of Genkaku, and step brother to Nanami. As a young boy he was made fun of because he was an orphan, and spent all of his time with Nanami and his best friend, Jowy. As they reached their teens, he and Jowy joined the Unicorn Brigade of the Highland Army; where his skill in martial arts, taught to him by Genkaku, made him a formidable fighter. After the Highland Army massacred the Unicorn Brigade and blamed it on Jowston's Army, he escaped and joined Viktor's mercenaries. Eventually, he ended up becoming the leader of the Dunan Unification movement, and led them to victory. After the Dunan Unification War, he disappeared along with the former Highland King, Jowy Blight (Atreides) and his sister, Nanami. He wears a circlet and shoulder pads that were given to him as a young boy by Genkaku, and fights with tonfar.

Tir McDohl (Tenkai Star)

He is the son of Teo McDohl and was the leader of the Toran Liberation Army after the death of the original leader, Odessa Silverberg. After the Toran Liberation Army defeated the Scarlet Moon Empire, McDohl left without taking a position of leadership within the newly formed Toran Republic. He has been travelling with his servant, Gremio. He was briefly involved with the Dunan Unification War as well.

Jowy Atreides / Jowy Blight
Origin: Kyaro
Position: Aristocrat / King of Highland
Events: Dunan Unification War

Jowy was not born to either the Atreides or Blight families. His mother, Rosa, later married Marcel Atreides and he was brought into the wealthy Highland aristocratic Atreides family. He was badly treated by his stepfather and stepbrother, and most of his peers disliked him because his family was very rich, so he only found companionship in his best friends Riou and Nanami. He and Riou joined the Highland Army's Unicorn Brigade. However, he escaped to Jowston after the Unicorn Brigade was massacred by Luca Blight. He decided to destroy Highland from within after witnessing the power of Luca--and thus he murdered Anabelle in order to win Luca's trust. Slowly but surely Jowy gained power within Highland, and because of the marriage with Jillia, this became a certainty. However, after the death of Luca, the effect of the Black Sword rune started to rob Jowy of his life as he constantly needed that power to keep the Beast Rune at bay. In the end his army is defeated, and he fled L'Renouille without a word. After that he travels the world with Nanami and Riou.

Camus (Chiki Star)

Position: Captain of the Red Knights
Events: Dunan Unification War

Born in a family of knights of the Free Knights of Camaro, Camus grew up educated as a knight. Due to Camaro's tradition, only his older brother was allowed to enter the Free Knights of Camaro. Because of that, he was not able to rise in rank beyond Squire--so he decided to enter the Matilda Knights. In the entry examination, Camus met with Miklotov for the first time, where they set a record for the longest duel. He was allowed to enter the knights after that duel and rapidly rose in rank. As a result, he became the Captain of the Red Knights within ten years, setting the record on being the youngest captain in Matilda's history. Camus was involved with some minor struggles, such as mercenaries hired by Highland capturing a village at the border between Matilda and Highland, but his greatest achievement is the role he played during the Dunan Unification War. During that conflict, Camus was originally working under Gorudo, the White Knight Captain. However, after Miklotov witnessed the atrocities committed by Highland and showed disgruntlement over Gorudo's inaction, Camus sided with Miklotov, leading to a mass-defection of the knights. This added a huge boost to the then-fledgeling Dunan Allied Army. After he finished serving the Allied Army, Camus helped Miklotov rebuild the Matilda Knights. After that, Camus traveled to the Grasslands with Miklotov. During their journey, they stopped at the village of Milit, where they meet Camus' childhood friend, Maki. They got involved in a bandit attack by a fake "Fire Hero," who happened to be Clant, an ex-Matilda White Knight Lieutenant. They were dumbfounded by this discoverey; but after dispatching Clant, they headed off continuing their journey again.

Hero IV(Tenkai Star)

Events: Kooluk Southern Expansion

A young boy who was found in the ocean and taken to Razril he was raised as a knight alongside his friend Snowe. He completed his training and proved himself worthy of the title Knight of Gaien. Shortly after graduation pirates attacked Razril and he helped drive them away. Afterwards he went to the roof of the Hall of Knights to his commander, Glen. Shortly after arriving Glen died and the Rune of Punishment transferred to him. He was blamed for Commander Glen's death and he was exiled. After being shipwrecked on a deserted island they rebuilt their ship and were taken to Obel. Here he discovered the past of his rune and he began working for the king of Obel. After Obel was invaded by the Kooluk he became captain on their ship. He lead the army to victory against the Kooluk forces. At the end of the war fort El-Eal exploded and the rune blast threatened to kill them all. Using his true rune he was able to stop the blast but at a terrible price. His body was put in a funeral boat and cast out to sea.

Clive (Tensyo Star)

Clive was born in the Howling Voice Guild and trained there from birth. Of those children in the Guild being trained at the same time, he was one of only three to survive until the "day of adulthood", which was when he turned fifteen years old. The other two, Elza and Kelly, were his best friends, and all managed to pass the test to become Knight Class Gunners. However, the Guild Elders wished to be rid of the other two, and made Kelly duel with Elza. The duel was rigged, with Kelly's gun, Mond, not firing. The elders wished to frame Elza for tampering with Mond, which she realized and escaped. However, Clive was obligated to hunt her down and kill her. He joined the Toran Liberation Army to try and find Elza, but didn't find her until the Dunan Unification War, where he finally caught up with her at the port town of Radat. They dueled, but he missed, and was injured by her bullet. After recovering, he soon again began to track her down, and caught up with her at the Sajah Village in Highland. This time, he won the duel, killing her, and was subsequently chosen as the new Guild Master. His weapon, Sturm, is a "gun" which is highly accurate and powerful. It is said that Sturm is manifested with an elemental spirit.

Franz (Tenrou Star)
Origin: Le Buque
Position: Mantor Trainer
Events: Second Fire Bringer War

Franz is a master Mantor trainer from the Harmonian-controlled town of Le Buque. Compared to the other Mantor trainers, he is the most obedient to Harmonia, as he seeks to gain second-class citizenship so he may have a better life as opposed to being treated as a slave by Harmonia. This causes friction between him and his Le Buquean neighbors, who don't feel so strongly the same way. The situation came to a head when Harmonia ordered them to attack another Grasslands clan, promising second-class citizenship for them. He is romantically involved with Iku, also from Le Buque, and cares for her greatly. His mantor, Ruby, is among the finest in the town, and Franz likes to make that known.

Fred (Chii Star)

Events: Second Fire Bringer War

Fred is the grandson of Maximillian, and Captain of the Maximillian Knights. As the Captain, he is constantly on the lookout for evil in need of being vanquished. He set out to the Grasslands to defeat the Flame Champion and Fire Bringer, but ended up joining them to defeat the new evil posed by Luc. After that task was completed, he headed off again in search of evil. Currently, he is one of only two members, but he aims to lead the Knights back to their past glory which they had under his grandfather. He is always open for new knights to join his squad.

Kinnison (Chisin Star)

Events: Dunan Unification War

Kinnison is a hunter who lives in the forest around Ryube. No one knows where exactly he came from, but he grew up with Shiro, his wolf-dog, and has been hunting for a very long time. He is concerned with the balance between nature and man, and joined Viktor's mercenaries in order to help get rid of Highland Soldiers who were ravaging the lands. He continued to serve in the Allied Forces until the end, and by that time he had developed a crush on Ayda, who also is a hunter and protector of nature. Ayda doesn't seem to mind this.

Shiro (Chitai Star)

Shiro is a wolf-dog who is the trusted companion of the archer, Kinnison. Shiro has been together with Kinnison ever since he was born and is highly skilled at hunting. He joined Viktor's Mercenaries after Kinnison joined their forces following an encounter with the Hero. After the war, he disappeared into the forests with Kinnison.

Nash Latkje (Tensoku Star)
Origin: Crystal Valley

Events: Dunan Unification War, Second Fire Bringer War

Nash is the eldest son of the powerful and well-known Latkje family. As a first class citizen, Nash grew up surrounded by everything he needed, including the love of his parents and his sister, Julie. He also grew up with Lena Suphala, who is technically Nash's aunt, but only three years older than him. The Latkje family had a very strict view on education and thus Nash was sent to the Howling Voice Guild for training on combat skills under the tutelage of Master Sauro. After enduring two years of training that at times made him throw up blood, he gained great skill in combat as well as the knowledge of the secret of gunpowder. With these skills, he entered the Temple Guards and mastered the use of his family heirloom--the Double Snake Sword, Grosser Fluss. Since then misfortune struck the Latkje family when Nash's father and mother both died of a mysterious illness. The only good news after this was the engagement and marriage of his sister Yulie with her tutor, Zaj Quilos, an adopted son of the Quilos family. However, Nash discovered the true identity of Zaj after taking a tissue sample of his dead father to Master Sauro. His father was poisoned by a type of slow-acting poison only known to members of the Howling Voice Guild. Nash then discovered a squire class gunner called "Zaj of the Black Moon". On the night before his sister's wedding, Nash confronted Zaj about his true identity. Zaj at first acted as if he had no idea, but further probed he admitted that he gave the poison to Nash's parents. He regretted that his plans to take over the Latkje household didn't go as he has planned. Nash then saw a small pistol slide into Zaj's hand and whether it was reflex or anger--he drew Grosser Fluss and gave Zaj a mortal wound. After that, Nash fled Crystal Valley. Since then the Latkje family was virtually destroyed and Yuri was taken under the protection of a Harmonian high priest.

Nash then joined the Harmonian Southern Fringe Security Force at Kaleria. The HSFSF was a place for similar people, most of them had no place to return to and all of them had some sort of skill that made them uniquely powerful special ops agents. Nash survived many missions within the HSFSF, but on one mission he was sent to Jowston to search for clues on True Runes. During this mission he learned that Zaj was still alive and was still trying to kill Nash. He ran into Zaj at Greenhill, where Nash was helping Teresa Wisemail fight against Highland. Nash then set on a return journey to Crystal Valley to fight with Zaj. After many problems, he finally returned to Crystal Valley and after a deadly duel, defeated Zaj. Lena Suphala asked Nash to stay, but Nash simply disappeared. Somewhere in the next 15 years, he got married, but nobody knows who the lucky lady is. He resurfaced in the Grasslands at the outbreak of the Second Fire Bringer War, aiding Chris Lightfellow (at the request of Salome), and later the Fire Bringer against the forces of the Harmonian Bishop, Luc. He operated under the last name of 'Clovis' for unknown reasons at this time. After the task is done, however, he again disappeared, his whereabouts unknown.

In battle, Nash uses a wide arsenal of weapons. Nash is a psychological fighter who uses many tricks in battle to defeat his opponents. However, he also possesses inhuman fighting skills when wielding Grosser Fluss. He was able to fight with Seed and Culgan, both powerful Highland generals, at the same time using his sword. However, he prefers to use Grosser Fluss only when it is absolutely necessary due to a "curse" of the sword which makes Nash lose distinction between friend and foe.

Hix(Tenrou Star)
Origin: Warrior's Village

Events: Gate Rune Wars, Dunan Unification War

Hix was born in the Warrior's Village, but he doesn't really like to fight. However, when his girlfriend, Tengaar, was kidnaped by Neclord, he stands up against Neclord and helps the Hero defeat him. Since then he has been travelling with Tengaar to complete his "trial of manhood." He helped the Dunan Unification Army and after that wandered off with Tengaar.

Hugo(Tensyo Star)
Origin: Karaya
Position: Clan Chief
Events: Second Fire Bringer War

Hugo was born the son of the Karaya Clan chief, Lucia, and an unknown father, soon after the Dunan Unification War was concluded. When Hugo was four, Fubar came to the Karaya Clan and Hugo immediately bonded with the wild griffon. He lived a mostly carefree Karayan childhood until the Zexen Knights attacked the village and killed his best friend, Lulu. After that he had to grow up in an instant, and seeked out the Flame Champion after hearing of his story. He instead found the wife of the deceased Flame Champion, Sana, and took up the responsibility of her husband. As the Flame Champion, he led Grasslands, Zexen, Harmonian, and other forces as the Fire Bringer, and stopped Luc's plans to destroy the True Wind Rune. After the war, he helps rebuild Karaya and also acts as the chief of the Karaya Tribe, succeeding his mother, Lucia.

Jacques (Chisin Star)
Origin: Unknown
Position: Mercenary
Events: Second Fire Bringer War

He is a member of Geddoe's Twelfth Unit, who uses a huge bow gun so he can attack from large distances. He doesn't talk much at all; keeping to himself all the time; even wandering off on his own. However, he can still always be counted on to help his comrades. For example, while he was purportedly out hunting for rabbits during the Karayan Village attack; he secretly shot an arrow from far away to help his comrades, and never even took credit for it. He is a man of simple pleasures, and enjoys hunting, as well as playing with dogs and children.

Klaus (Chikai Star)
Origin: L'Renouille
Position: Strategist
Events: Dunan Unification War

Klaus was the Army Strategist for the 3rd Highland Army and the son of General Kiba. He is mild-mannered, but his skill in strategy is highly acclaimed. Like his father, his loyalty was pledged to Agares Blight, and not Luca. He joined the Allied Army after he was defeated and captured by them, and told that Agares Blight was killed by Luca Blight. Later on, Klaus became a pupil of Shu.

Luc (Tenkan Star)
Origin: Harmonia
Position: Magician
Events: Gate Rune Wars, Dunan Unifciation War, Second Fire Bringer War

Luc is the holder of the True Wind Rune, and is an apprentice under Leknaat. He is originally from Harmonia, but he was involved in some kind of incident about ten years before the Dunan Unification War at the One Temple. He participated in both the Gate Rune Wars and Dunan Unifciation War upon Leknaat's command, and grudgingly fights in these wars. However, when he confronted Sasarai, a Harmonian High Priest, he showed rare enthusiam to fight and caused the Harmonian forces to flee.

Sometime after the Dunan Unification War, he became worried about the future he saw coming from the True Rune, and angered at his destiny as a vessel for True Runes. He believed that there would be complete balance (Dharma) in the world, and it would be lifeless. He decided to take things into his own hands, and attempted to destroy a true rune: his. He enlisted prominent strategist Albert Silverberg (who helped him recruit Yuber the Black Knight); and Sarah, the great magician whom he rescued from the Circle Palace in Crystal Valley previously. Albert knows that to destroy the True Rune, he needs control of multiple other true runes, namely the other elemental runes.

To execute his plan, he became a bishop in Harmonia thanks to Hikusaak, his identity hidden by a mask. Knowing he needs to bring the other true elemental rune bearers out into the open, he first starts rumors about the Fire Bringer being active in the Grasslands. Then he helped incite a war in the Grasslands by having Sarah attack the Lizard Clan disguised as Chris Lightfellow of the Zexen Knights. The Lizard Clan Chief Zepon is killed in the attack, causing the infuriated Lizard Clan; to ambush the Zexen Knights, resulting in all-out war in the Grasslands. The ensuing conflict allowed him access to the bearers of the True Fire, Water, Earth, and Lightning Runes, and he was able to steal the runes using a technique he learned in Harmonia. However, the Fire Bringer led by the Flame Champion; were able to defeat him at the Ceremonial Site, and stop his plans.

He realized the futility of his plans; and makes peace with his mentor Leknaat, whom he betrayed; but it is too late for him. He dies together with Sarah; and his soul is gone forever, at rest.

Mike (Chisu Star)

Events: Second Fire Bringer War

Mike is a man who is seemingly a light-hearted and likeable card player on the outside, but with an unknown, dark inside that some people see, but nobody knows any more about. He joined the Fire Bringer in Caleria after being beaten in a game of cards. Later, it was reported that men dressed in black were secretly meeting with him every night. He introduced himself to Luc as an arms dealer named Leonard, and a man in Caleria refered to him as a detective. Geddoe, upon meeting Mike, thought something is strange about him. Upon seeing Watari, Mike was very inquisitive and wanted to know if Watari noticed him; and indeed, Watari seemed intrigued by Mike's appearance at Budehuc Castle also. However, what exactly all the clues mean is a mystery.

Sergeant Joe / Sergeant Jordi (Tenko Star)
Origin: Duck Village
Position: Sergeant
Events: Second Fire Bringer War

He is an extremely devoted warrior from the Duck Clan. Once the head of a family with two children, he was separated from them by his work. His eldest son suddenly came down with a sickness and was dying. However, Jordi was at battle, and the progress of the battle was unfavorable, so he did not allow himself to leave the battlefield to be with his son at his deathbed. This decision to live as a warrior instead of being with his family at such a time was a hard one, and after much consideration, he decided to live away from them. He met Lucia in battle against Zexen in IS 465. They get along due to their life as warriors. Later, as a mentor to Hugo, he trained him in the way of the warrior. Jordi told him not to spend too much time grieving after Lulu's death, because the death of loved ones is a fact of war that cannot be changed. After the Second Fire Bringer War, however, Jordi returned to live with his family.

Feather (Tenman/Tentai Star)
Origin: Valley of the Winds
Position: Griffon
Events: Dunan Unification War

This griffon is quite powerful, for he carries a special rune of its own. He is very strong as well, and could hold out for quite some time in battle. He is actually a Prince of the Griffons, but belongs to a different tribe of griffons than those in Jowston.

Louis Keeferson (Chisyu Star)
Origin: Vinay Del Zexay
Position: Knight
Events: Second Fire Bringer War

Louis is the youngest son of seven of an aristocrat in Vinay del Zexay. His father was good friends with Wyatt Lightfellow, so Louis knew Chris from an early age. He became an apprentice under Chris in the Zexen Knights. He serves as the squire for the Six Mighty Knights; although most of them treat him like a plaything, finding it hilarious to get him drunk, and in other ways taking advantage of his naivety. However, he eventually becomes a knight after all his hard work.

Watari (Chikou Star)
Origin: Unknown
Position: Mercenary
Events: Higheast Rebellion, Second Fire Bringer War

Watari is a silent ninja. He was a member of the Kage (or 'Dark Wind') organization, a group of ninjas who once worked for Highland. He came to grow loyal to one person within Highland (speculated to be Jillia Blight), and when the organization ceased to work for that person, Watari deserted the Kage, and became hunted by them. Since then he has been on the run, while still doing mercenary work. He also retained the garb of the Kage, covering his mouth and nose with a cloth. He joined the Fire Bringer for a hefty fee, and while working for them he came across Ayame, another member of the Kage. They duelled, and he defeated her, causing her to agree not to try and kill him until after the war. After the war he disappeared, on the run again.

Sasuke (Chikyou Star)
Origin: Rokkaku
Position: Ninja
Events: Dunan Unification War

A young ninja from Rokkaku. He was taught the ways of the shinobi from Mondo along with Kasumi. He has just entered his adolescense and has a crush on Kasumi, which makes him act strangely in her presence. He was born as a high-tier ninja, but he is still lower in rank than Mondo.

Seed
Origin: Highland
Position: General
Events: Dunan Unification War

Seed grew up as a peasant within the Highland Kingdom. With his exceptional skill with a sword and a rune, he quickly rose up in rank and became a captain under General Solon Jhee. After Solon Jhee's execution, he was promoted to Vice-General after Culgan was promoted to general and after the defection of Kiba, he was promoted to general of the 3rd Army. As a warrior, he is well known for his ruthlessness in battle and is thus referred to as the Flaming General. However, he is skilled with the use of the Flowing Rune. Also, when he was pursuing the Harmonian spy, Nash Latkje, he was struck by Nash's poison-laden attack and was defeated. Thanks to Culgan, however, he was able to keep his life. Following the invasion of Highland by the Allied Army, Seed fought alongside Culgan in a last stand within the Palace of L'Renouille. He was defeated and killed by the Hero and his party.

Troy
Origin: Kooluk
Position: Fleet Commander
Events: Kooluk Southern Expansion

The "Child of the Sea God", Commander Troy is the leader of Kooluk's first fleet, and one of the best seaman the world has to offer. He skillfully defeats the experienced Commander Glen of Razril, and is still a much younger man. Troy doesn't understand why Graham Cray and the Governor are working to eliminate the Island Nations, as Troy prefers a more peaceful conquest, one that doesn't involve killing countless innocents. Colton, although he doesn't support Troy's methods, does think Cray is suspicious. Troy is defeated by the hero when they invade Kooluk, but, after the hero defeats Graham Cray and flees the destroyed Fort El-Eal, he is stopped by Troy, who challenges the hero to a duel. The hero wins, and Troy sinks with his ship.
